Make a List of “Things to Take” and “Things to Throw”

The best way to have everything organised is to make a list. Start pre-planning weeks before the actual shifting day. Follow the list, cut out the things you have done. This is the ideal way to stay organised and not panic on the shifting day.

Over the time, you have bought various items which may seem unnecessary now. Don’t clutter your new place with all these. These includes, clothes, utensils and furniture. Be minimalistic. Take only those things that matter the most. You can sell, donate or throw away the rest of the disposable items.

Arrange Boxes, Cartons & Other Packing Materials

At Toongabbie Ute & Truck Rentals, you can purchase different Packing Materials. We have collaborated with National Storage and are producing Packing Materials such as:

  • Various sizes and shapes of Boxes and Cartons
  • Different type of Covers suitable for all sized beds, chairs, couches, tables and sofas
  • Wraps, Foams, Papers, Marker Pens, Knives, Tapes, Tape Dispensers
  • Storage Units Locks

Arrange the Appropriate Ute or Truck, According to Your Shifting

You will know which vehicle to hire. If you are relocating from a studio apartment or a small unit, hire a Ute from us. If you are shifting from a small office or an averaged sized house, rent a Truck. Each vehicle is designed to carry separate load.

Start Packing

Each box has its own task. For instance, pack your clothes inside Port-a-Robe. Store all the documents, papers, discs and magazines in Archive Boxes. Wrap the fragile items with Bubble Wraps.
Sort out the boxes. For example, write down ‘Kitchen’ under those boxes you have stacked kitchen utensils. And so on.

Protect your beds, sofas, tables and chairs using our Covers.

In case of the fragile items, seal the boxes with fragile tape. Keep them separately.

Clear Out the Waste

It is better to clear out the waste from your property before moving out. Wastes come in many forms- unwanted utensils, broken furniture, damaged electronic product, torn clothes, backyard junks and garden wastes.

Change Your Address

Have you notified the correct authorities that you have a new address now? With all the packing and unpacking, this crucial information can slip your mind. Do this as soon as you pay your new place’s band fees.

Clean the Old Property

We know you are leaving this property. This doesn’t mean you keep it smudged with dirt. Wash the dish washer, clean the floors, the window frames, the robes and the cabinets. Wash the bathrooms. Mow the lawn.

You never know, while cleaning, you may find some important item stacked away in the cabinet.

Load Your Belongings

Once all the packing is completed, start loading. Our Trucks come with tail lifters and hydraulic lifters. You can now easily lift up to 500 kg at one go.

It is also easy to load in our Utes. All our Utes come in open cages. This enables items such as fridge to stand erect.

Once loading is completed, secure the door properly. Ensure no items are sticking out. Safety comes first.

Move Out

Finally, the day is here! Move out slowly and carefully. For a safe journey, see our Safe Driving Tips here.
